Love to love.

A paradise for any magazine or book lover… Comptoir de l’Image is the one and only hidden treasure in Paris.

About the size of a postage stamp, every nook and cranny is filled to the brim; Paris Vogue, Numero, Dutch, vintage designer look books– it seems like every uber-cool publication can be found among the rare fashion and photography books here.  I can’t imagine any other place I would want to spend a rainy afternoon in Paris.

However, I wouldn’t bring a friend, it’s so small they may not be able to fit both of you!

he cavernous chamber of the Galerie Courbe in the Grand Palais was temporarily transformed into a magical backdrop for Chanel‘s new Metiers d’art collection, inspired by India’s Maharajas and lavish palaces. Tables were set with tiers of fruits, sweets, and flowers. Models, with khol-rimmed eyes, donned jeweled tikkas down the middle of dreadlocked hair. And this is just a sliver of the many extravagant details. Check out the beautiful footage below and see how pieces from the collection came together at embroidery house Lesage and button and jewelry atelier Desrues.

Oh la la, I think I have been obsessed with Paris ever since I was a petite fille, in fact I always dreamt of moving there one day…I have been to Paris many many times, I still love it and I always will but lately, its NY who’s really calling my name. So I thought  it would be fun to share with you some illustrations I found on Paris vs NYC by Vahram Muratyan…How awesome and spot on are they?

Patti Smith on her new photography exhibition. Her new album, due out next year, features Johnny Depp, of all people, on guitar. “Johnny’s a great musician,” says Smith, who in person is precise and watchful. “Patti Smith: Camera Solo” opens at the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, CT, and is on view through February 19, 2012; thewadsworth.org

~ PastryParis: the book ~

Along with Susan Hochbaum, we are thrilled to report  that “PastryParis” (the little movie we enjoyed) is now a book!  PastryParis is a collection of nearly 100 of the world’s most beautiful settings. The pairings – often humorous and always arresting – offer a visual tour of this most sumptuous of cities, where desserts are taken as seriously as music, sculpture and painting.  Available for pre-order through online booksellers and will be in bookstores on October 11.
